Personality:
Davis lives life at a break-neck pace, which seems to be quite the contradiction to his occupation as a farmer. He makes decision, acts, and realizes that was a terrible idea all before he is even able to think it through. As if that wasn’t enough, that is all carried out loudly and boisterously, with probably a good amount of over-enthusiastic back slapping. All that bluster is coming from a good place though, as he usually just is doing his best to help. He seems like the type of person to be confident, but he’s actually pretty lacking in that department. He can get a bit flaky and overwhelmed due to that paired with his eagerness to please. Despite these faults, the bottom line is that he is just a hot-blooded guy who’s friendly. He really likes interacting with people—even if it’s only listening, just don’t ask him to give advice—and is quick to laugh.
Appearance:
Davis definitely does not look out of his element as a farmer. Long days spent toiling outside are visible to anyone—from his tanned skin to his calloused hands. His stature shares his propensity for his profession, standing at 6’0” with muscles formed over years of labor. He shares the same mahogany hair color as his sister, short and often just sticking up in perpetual hat hair. His eyes are a bright blue, inherited from his mother, and accentuated by pronounced lower lashes. Despite a certain softness around his eyes, his features lend themselves to a more handsome ideal than cute, with a strong profile and jawline.
He never makes an effort to hide his feelings, his face freely emoting according to his moods, which usually means bright, wide eyes and a grin. The rest of his body follows suit, hands often used to accompany his words. He moves like he always has something to accomplish by doing so, even when he’s not really up to much. Davis doesn’t quite share his sister’s affection for fashion, and wears clothes more for their actual use rather than how they look. He seems especially fond of flannel shirts.
Background:
Davis was raised mostly by his mother, as his parents divorced when he was fairly young. His father—along with his new half-sister—were present in his life in his youth, but after he moved with his mother for work, they mostly only met during family reunions. Compared to his sister Natly, he had a relatively normal upbringing, as he didn’t want to leave the public schooling or his friends even after his father offered to pay for a private school. It’s not that he felt any sort of rift with his father, but rather he was just more comfortable with the lifestyle his mother and him were living.
As he grew older he took a ridiculous amount of part time work, trying to find something that he felt he could actually spend the rest of his life doing, but nothing really felt right. While feeling particularly directionless after his 18th birthday, he happened to meet and chat with an ex-resident of Meadow View and was inspired to try out the village as a quiet place to sort out his life. Of course, it was a lot more quiet than he thought and he had a lot of second thoughts, but in the end he was inspired to stay and dedicate himself to farming. He definitely has a lot to learn still, but in the three years since he arrived he has definitely improved a lot.
