Name: Alsetessa Pine (all-seh-teh-sa)
Age: 22
Gender: Female
Birthday: Spring 15
Occupation: Full-Time Pet Shop Owner, Self-Employed Animal Tamer
Personality: Alsetessa does not look like a very inviting person and she has the cold personality to back it up. She is very stand offish with new people and even with acquaintances she is still very closed off. To customers she is often withdrawn, but if you get her talking about her animals good luck trying to stop her. She has very few human friends and ever since moving to Meadow View she has kept to herself, only frequenting town every so often for supplies, food, and the occasional town event. While being intensely wary of people, she is very fond of animals. She considers all of her animals her friends. Because of this she gets very attached to her animals and whenever someone buys or tries to buy an animal, she refuses to haggle and sometimes refuses to sell.
If she meets anyone with a passion for animals, she will be significantly more open to them. However if she meets anyone who dislikes or abuses animals, there is a good chance the next time they meet that an "accident" may happen to them.
Appearance: Standing at about 5'8", Alsetessa often sees herself as too big in nearly all aspects. Her insecurities are forgotten when she isn't around people and has nothing to compare herself with. Her arms and legs are on the slightly thicker side, conditioned by years of chasing after and taming wild animals. Her hair is a pastel, mossy-olive green that falls to just past her hips. It's often straight, but the bottom will get messy and curly just from her daily activities. Her skin is well tanned from all her time in the sun with her animals.
She often has a hair accessory or headband consisting of an animal item (ie. horns, furs, feathers). Except during the winter, Alsetessa wears sleeveless tops, dresses, and jackets. She wears 4 belts: 2 over her jacket, 1 under her jacket, and 1 around her left leg. The two over her jacket holds a pouch filled with medicinal herbs and ointments for animals and a fresh bushel of medicinal herbs. The belt on her leg has a pouch filled with food and treats. She also carries around a beaded strap with feathers as a good luck charm.
Normally she is dressed in a sleeveless fur jacket, a sleeveless top, a skirt, and thigh-high socks with boots. She also seems to be perpetually injured and is never without some kind of bandaging.
Background: At a young age, Alsetessa learned that she had a knack with animals. She could quiet yapping dogs, calm anxious cats, and feed animals the wouldn't eat. Because of all the time she spent with animals, kids at school would often tease her and ostracize her for being "an animal" or being "dirty" or a "cat lady". It was early in life that she became cold and jaded towards people.
Moving from a larger city, Alsetessa sought out a smaller town so that she could raise some animals for her own. She found the abandoned house in Sunshine Meadow and took it in as her home, working hard to refurbish it for living. However, living on her own proved to be difficult without money and she opened a shop on the first floor. In retrospect, it was probably a terrible idea to have the shop so far from the Shopping District but she prefers it to having to deal constantly with people. Her store is relatively new and it shows in her wares and fickle customer service.
Likes: All animals (minus bugs), animal plushies, fresh fruit, furs, mythology, books.
Dislikes: (Most) People, rain, all bugs (yes, even the pretty ones), green vegetable (just because she loves rabbits doesn't make her one), swimming (as in, she can't).
Hates: Animal abusers.
Area of Residency: Sunshine Meadow
Title: Meadow Menagerie - Second Floor
Meadow Menagerie is an open-air establishment located near the east edge of Sunshine Meadow. There is a skeleton of an old house that has been refurbished (refurbished being used loosely) with two floors. There are no walls or doors, only wooden flooring, supporting beams and a top canopy of colorful fabric. The first floor houses the Menagerie, a moderately sized shop that is usually fairly empty. Most of the animals are allowed to roam freely and customers can play and pet the animals as they wish. While the shop has pets from dogs to birds to horses it will always have one or two tamed "wild" animals, such as deer, squirrels, and the occasional bear.
