Hi guys!
Emily and Oliver just promoted me to Moderator to help keep the forum running when they're not here. I'd really like to get a handle on what people need done that I can help with:
For example, I've already moved all of the threads labeled Complete from the main forum to the Archives. However, I've noticed there are a lot of incomplete but inactive Spring threads. What I am considering doing now is sending a message to those involved in each inactive thread by the end of the Summer season and asking if they plan to continue the thread-- if the answer is no or there is no answer, then I'll move it to Archives with an Incomplete label. I'm also up to hearing your ideas on how to streamline that process.
I also have noticed a real drop in activity recently. I would love to know why you personally have had a drop in activity, if you feel you have; if you've lost interest, if you've just been busy, if you feel like your character isn't interacting enough with others, etc. Hopefully I'll be able to put some new stuff in place that will give people more interest in coming.
As a second approach to inactivity, I am wondering how people would feel about having seasonal activity checks, or at least seasonal check-ups, so that those who have not posted anything (not necessarily in-character, just anything) on the boards in a month would get a check-up or a reminder to post after a month of inactivity. Does this add too much pressure and make the forum less fun, or do you think this is a good way to make sure people are here more often?
If there's anything else you feel needs improvement or any other suggestions/comments you'd like to air, please do.
If you need to contact me at any time for modly things, and you don't want to do it publically, you can either send me a message or, if it's really urgent, you can email me at amagpiem13@gmail.com. THIS EMAIL GOES STRAIGHT TO MY PHONE, DON'T ABUSE THIS PRIVILEGE.
Thanks, and I'll do my best to be a good mod!
